Training program by General Electric (GE) Renewable Energy at Kathmandu University

A 4 days training program from June 10-11 & 13-14 was held in Kathmandu University conducted by GE Renewable Energy. A similar training was previously held in January, 2019 on the topics of electromechanical components of hydropower plants. This time, the training focused on model testing of turbines, cavitation, control system and balance of plants. The training was provided by experts from related field, Mr. Bhargav Patel (Lead Engineer) and Mr Vinaya Kumar Kuniyil (Senior program manager). The program was co-ordinated by Prof. Hari Prasad Neopane, Associate Dean of School of Engineering from Kathmandu University and Ms. Sonia Gill from GE (India). The program was attended 48 trainees including researchers of Turbine Testing Lab (TTL), as well as representatives from various institutions and companies of Nepal like IOE, NEA, NEAEC, HPL and TAC Hydro. There were 48 trainees in total.
