Message from the Vice-Chancellor

It is with deep humility and gratitude I accept this responsibility of leading Kathmandu University for four more years. I assure of my complete dedication, determination and commitment to preserve and advance the values of this institution, founded by visionaries who boldly dreamt to change the landscape of education and development in Nepal and the world.

In its 25 years, the KU family, together with its well-wishers have proven that even when the country is going through a period of uncertainties, this institution endures every adversity to be a beacon of optimism, hope and opportunity. Our graduates have permeated every development sector in Nepal and have been the best testimony to the fruition of our sacred mission of quality education for leadership.

As any institution trying to do novel things, we have areas where we could improve further; and we will relentlessly work on them. We express our sincere appreciation to everyone who has constantly provided constructive inputs. I request all to join hands to move ahead on the issues we agree upon while we work on the things we differ. Let us be united with the dreams we share and the values we respect.

My life has always been guided by nothing but a simple and clear principle of giving and serving others. In this pursuit, I am constantly reminded of the quote of Robert F Kennedy, ‘There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?’ It is with this enthusiasm I look forward to working together with my Kathmandu University family, community members, friends and those passionate to make the lives of people better, to usher this glorious institution into a new era of growth and development.
