Foundation Stone-Laying Program of Lungs Centre Held

The foundation stone-laying of Lungs Treatment and Research Centre was held at Battase Daanda, Panauti-5, Kavre.

The centre will be one of the first institutions in Nepal to provide primary and tertiary-level facilities for the treatment of lungs-related diseases. The centre will be divided into four components: asthma treatment, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) treatment, allergy centre and diagnosis centre.

The program was attended by Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Registrar; Prof. Dr. Parasar Koirala, Chairperson of University Grants Commission (UGC); Mr. Madhu Prasad Regmi, Secretary of the Ministry of Education; Prof. Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, founding VC of Kathmandu University; Mr. Bel Prasad Shrestha, former Mayor of Dhulikhel municipality; Dr. Rajendra Koju, Dean of KU School of Medical Sciences and other important personalities of Kathmandu University and Dhulikhel Hospital. 

In the program, the speakers emphasized on the quality service that Kathmandu University and Dhulikhel Hospital have been providing and assumed the Centre will be a value addition in the same path of quality assurance.
