Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel in HELTASA 2017

On November 21, 2017, Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel, Associate Professor and Associate Dean of School of Education conducted a 3-hour long workshop for researchers, academics and staff members across southern African universities during the 2017 Conference organized by Higher Education Learning and Teaching Association of South Africa (HELTASA) at Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel and convention centre, Durban, South Africa.

Titled as “Transformative educational research as/for professional development”, the workshop was designed to share with the Southern African Researchers the Transformative education research practice promoted by Dr Luitel and colleagues at KUSOED.

Likewise, on November 22, 2017, Dr Luitel made a keynote presentation entitled Developing educational research as/for transformative professional development: A case of (post)graduate education research programme for a greater good, at the same HELTASA 2017 conference themed as HIGHER EDUCATION WELL-BEING: TRANSCENDING BOUNDARIES, REFRAMING EXCELLENCE. Dr Luitel argued for the case of multi-paradigmatic transformative research as a means for professional development of educational professionals working for empowering, life-affirming and authentic educational processes and outcomes. Of particular focus, Dr. Luitel argued for the case of epistemological pluralism together with the purpose of higher education as public good.
