CANSAT LEADER TRAINING PROGRAM (CLTP) with HEPTA-SAT

TTL Seminar Hall, Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel

15-17 November 2017

Kathmandu University - School of Engineering (KU-SoE) in coordination with University Space Engineering Consortium – Global (UNISEC-Global) and in collaboration with Kathmandu University Robotics Club (KURobotics) completed a 3-day training on CanSat Leader Training Program (CLTP) using HEPTA-SAT training tool developed by Prof. Masahiko Yamazaki from Nihon University, Japan in his presence. He was supported by three trainers from the same University.

The CanSat Leader Training Program (CLTP) is a training course from which participants experience the entire process of CanSat development from the design to launch of model rockets. Through the program, participants learn the space technology and teaching methods utilized in space engineering. The HETPA-SAT, on the other hand, is a training tool developed by Prof. Yamazaki for hands-on study of satellite-engineering. In the training, 14 participants from Kathmandu University, 2 participants from  Institute of Engineering, TU and one participant from Brihaspati Vidya Sadan learned the basic subsystems of satellite including structure, electrical power supply, command and data handling, communication subsystem, ground station, and sensor as well as learned how to integrate those subsystems to create a working satellite as a whole. Participants have found this training very educative and useful.
