‘Samayojan 3’ - An Art Engineering Workshop concluded on 15 February at central campus which was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering (SOE) in association with Center for Art and Design, School of Arts (SOA) and in coordination with Turbine Testing Lab (TTL) and Technical Training Center (TTC).
The third edition of the workshop was conducted from 9th to 15th February at Dhulikhel. The closing ceremony was organized on 15th February in the presence of Honorable Vice Chancellor of KU, Associate Deans of School of Engineering, Head of Departments and other KU staffs and faculties as the invitees.
With the main purpose of uniting the students of different departments and schools in order to bring interdisciplinary projects, the trend of Art Engineering began since 2012. This workshop was also focused on giving the newly admitted undergraduate students an exposure in their fields. It can also be taken as a sincere attempt to create an awareness of how the junks can be used to make something innovative and useful. There were 9 different groups in the workshop, including 50 students from School of Engineering and 17 students from School of Arts.
The program was anchored by Mr. Sailesh Chitrakar from TTL while welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Hari Prasad Neopane, HOD of Mechanical Engineering Department, which was followed by the project overview by Mr. Gopal Kalapremi Shrestha from School of Arts. A token of appreciation was provided to all the involved staffs and certificates were distributed to the students at the event. Prof. Dr. Bim Prasad Shrestha, Associate Dean of School of Engineering discussed about the need of interdisciplinary activities through collaboration with all the departments of the university. The formal session was ended with the closing remarks from the Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju.
