APPA of Nepal: Academic Partnership Project for Advanced Organic Farming in Nepal, a Collaborative research program of Chonbuk National University (CBNU), Kathmandu University (KU) and Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) officially launched on 11th February 2015 at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel. Program was jointly launched by Korean Ambassador His Excellency Mr. Yong-Jin Choe and Registrar Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa by lighting the lamp. This collaborative project is one of the academic partnership programs between Nepal and Korea which is funded by KOICA (Korean International Cooperation Agency). The Korean partner CBNU will provide manpower and technology to enhance the educational and research capability of Kathmandu University in organic farming sector. During the program, significance of the collaborative KOICA research programs were highlighted by the Korean Ambassador His Excellency Mr. Yong-Jin choe, Registrar of KU Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Prof. Byung-Taek Oh, Prof. Janardan Lamichhane and Director of NARC.
Program was attended by Korean Professors from CBNU, Associate Deans, Directors, Associate Directors, Head of departments, Coordinators and Professors of School of Science and School of Engineering from KU.
His Excellency Ambassador handed over the certificates to the newly selected M.S. by research students for the project. A Proposed building for the establishment of the research laboratory was jointly inaugurated by the Ambassador, Registrar of KU, Prof. Byung-Taek Oh and resident representative of KOICA on same day.
