MoU signed between Kathmandu University and Nepal Police Hospital

In an effort to collaborate on joint initiatives aimed at advancing education, research, and training in the field of medicine and related disciplines, Kathmandu University (KU) and Nepal Police Hospital, Kathmandu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) amidst a Signing Ceremony held at Senate Hall, C.V. Raman Auditorium. The MoU outlined the different areas of academic collaborations between the two institutions including joint training programs, undertaking joint research projects and participation in each other’s academic programs.

Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice Chancellor of KU, signed the MoU on behalf of the university, while Inspector General of Police Mr. Basanta Bahadur Kunwar signed on behalf of Nepal Police Hospital.

Professor Dr. Achyut Wagle, Registrar of KU, extended a welcome to the dignitaries from Nepal Police at KU. He expressed his delight in achieving a collaborative milestone through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. Additionally, he highlighted the growing international reputation of Kathmandu University's graduates in the field of Medical Sciences.

At the event, IGP Mr. Basanta Bahadur Kunwar conveyed his pleasure at partnering with KU and expressed optimism that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would serve as a significant milestone in strengthening the capabilities of the Nepal Police hospital through training, collaborative research, and academic initiatives. He also took a moment to retrospectively acknowledge the support extended by Kathmandu University in previous academic engagements with Nepal Police, commending the university for its assistance.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, the Vice Chancellor of KU, highlighted Kathmandu University's contributions to the nation in the field of medical education. He characterized the MoU with Nepal Police Hospital as a milestone in KU's endeavors to advance medical education in the country. Emphasizing the importance of integrating technology with medical education as the way forward to the development in medical education, Prof. Thapa also underscored the challenge and opportunity presented by the effective implementation of the MoU for both institutions.

The agreement signing took place in the presence of several senior officials from both Kathmandu University and Nepal Police.
