Dr. Pandey Publishes in International Journal

Dr. Bishnu Prasad Pandey, Assistant Professor at the Department of Natural Science, published a research article in Journal of Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, a reputed international journal. The article entitled on “Identification of the specific electron transfer protein, ferredoxin, and ferredoxin reductase for CYP105D7 in Streptomyces avermitilis MA4680” is available online in the following link:

The paper covers the identification of specific electron transfer protein i.e. ferredoxin and ferredoxin reductase for CYP105D7 activity from Streptomyces avermitilis MA4680. The work is relevant in the field of Biotechnology, especially in the Cytochrome P450 enzymology.

Dr. Pandey has used several approaches like in-vitro reconstitution, gene disruption, and quantitative reverse transcription poly-merase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) for mRNA expression profile analysis of ferredoxin and ferredoxin reductase. Through his findings he has proposed the pathway for CYP105D7 activity, which follows NAD(P)H→FdxH→FprD→CYP105D7.
