Community education pilot project (CEPP) organized a community education tour

Kathmandu University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with community education pilot project (CEPP) organized a community education tour for undergraduate second year students from 22-26 Nov 2012. Faculties and staff accompanying the students were Mr. Jayanand Bokati, Mr. Madhav Prasad Pandey, Mr. Neeraj Dhungel, Mr. Roshan Ranjit and Mr. Sunil Khanal.

The objective of the tour was to expose KU students and faculties to rural environment so that the relevant project topics that need engineering applications can be explored.  The tour also intended to practically implement the academic knowledge of the faculty staffs and students in the rural communities.

Students participated in various community education activities organized at Shyame Wangphel Higher Secondary School, Shyaphrubesi including a short training on house wiring and demonstration of installation of solar home system to the students of grade 9 and 10. Community education activities also included short presentations on various technical topics. In addition, students visited different villages of upper Rasuwa including Syaphru, Chilime, Goljung, Gatlang and Timure.
