A half-day workshop on 'Navigating the Future: Effective AI and Software Development Management' was conducted in Kathmandu on November 30, 2023, by Scienta, SimulaMet Norway, and Kathmandu University, Nepal. The workshop was attended by over 100 participants from academia and the software industry. Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, the Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, gave the welcome remarks, and Prof. Jorgenson provided an overview of the workshop's talks. There were a total of seven talks. The keynote speech, titled 'Advising Large Software Development Initiatives: Experience from Digitalization Projects in the Norwegian Public Sector,' was delivered by Tobias K. Torrisen, a consultant and manager at Scienta. Following the keynote, two parallel technical sessions took place, each with three separate talks. The themes of these sessions were AI and Software Development and Project Management. The talks were given by Dr. Nils Christian Haugen, Dr. Bal Krishna Bal, Dr. Erik Stavelin, Dr. Cathrine Riise Dannevig, Dr. Stein Grimstad, and Prof. Dr. Magne Jorgensen. The Dean of the School of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, gave the vote of thanks, and Dr. Prakash Poudyal facilitated the program.
