Kathmandu University, November 11, 2023 – Ingvild Heggstad, Senior Advisor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and coordinator of the NORHED project, visited Kathmandu University for a collaborative engagement focused on the Hydro Himalaya project. During her visit, an insightful interaction meeting was held, where team members and students shared updates on the project’s progress and discussed the positive impact of the collaboration among NTNU,the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), and Wuhan University (WHU) on their research and academic development.
Students highlighted how their research and theses have benefited from the exchange programs and technical support under the Hydro Himalaya project. They discussed how these partnerships are enhancing research quality, expanding thematic knowledge, and providing practical experience in their studies.
Following the meeting, Heggstad toured Kathmandu University’s laboratories that are associated with the Hydro Himalaya Project. She visited the Electrical High Voltage Lab, followed by the Turbine Testing Lab and the Green Hydrogen Lab and interacted with the students and researchers. The tour provided her with a firsthand look at how these facilities are being utilized and upgraded as part of the project.
This visit underscored the continued commitment of Kathmandu University and NTNU to advancing sustainable energy solutions and educational exchange within the Himalayan region.
