STEAM education envisages educational practices by improving the curriculum, assessment, and pedagogical practices through the ethos of an integrated approach to STEAM education. The program will be a supporting venture to make learning more engaging and offer students a lot of cognitive, reflective, and performative power. It also envisages nurturing future skilled teachers and leaders who can achieve excellence personally and professionally. The two-year MEd in STEAM Education program seeks to revolutionize teacher education, turning it into a dynamic endeavor that develops performative, philosophical, and artistic teachers and educators who shape their identity through advocacy and transformation. This program provides them with an opportunity to learn and explore a variety of innovative, context-based teaching and learning methodologies. Education, research, and the growth of evidence-based pedagogical leadership firmly anchor this strategy. It empowers educators to excel academically and become innovative teachers and leaders.

After the completion of the course, the graduates will be able to:

• To design curricula through STEAM education perspectives
• To develop a sound philosophical understanding and practical uses of STEAM education and research around the disciplines
• To develop professional development programs for pre-service and in-service teachers and to provide opportunities to obtain valuable knowledge and skills about teaching
• To develop the field of STEAM education with adequate theoretical and practical components with provisions for planning, teaching, adapting, institutionalizing, and reflecting on classroom experience
• To facilitate the process of developing human resources in the field of STEAM Education
• To modernize and restructure teacher education practices, emphasizing skill development and orientation to the current instructional strategy
• To prepare innovative educational and pedagogical leaders
• To help teachers prepare materials for instructional practices based on STEAM perspectives and approaches

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates having a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a university or an institution recognized by Kathmandu University will be eligible to apply for a two-year M.Ed. program in STEAM Education.
