With the global population projected to reach 9.9 billion by 2050, the demand for food is set to rise by nearly 100%. For a developing nation like Nepal, shifting from subsistence farming to high-value, technology-driven production is no longer just an option—it is a necessity for national prosperity.

Building on the success of our interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, the Department of Agriculture at Kathmandu University (KU) is proud to announce the commencement of its Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Agriculture, specializing in Horticulture, starting with the Inaugural 2026 Batch.

This advanced program is designed for scholars who wish to lead the next wave of agricultural evolution. While the B.Sc. provides a broad understanding of the field, the M.Sc. Horticulture delves deep into the science of high-value crop production, post-harvest innovation, and climate-resilient breeding. Our curriculum bridges the gap between laboratory research and field application, ensuring that our graduates are not just academically sound, but are pioneers capable of transforming Nepal’s agricultural landscape.
