BED in Teaching Chinese to the Speaker of Other Languages (TCSOL) with TESOL minor

Chinese language,along with English, has been acknowledged as the International Language by the United Nation and is spoken widely all around the world. The influence of Chinese Language is growing gradually as China has played a crucial role in world economics, infrastructure development and scientific innovation. Thus, there is huge demand for Chinese language learners in the national and international market place to fulfill the requirement of  expanding Chinese investment. Acknowledging the importance of  Chinese language in Nepal, Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) in order to produce qualified local Chinese Language teachers, initiated the 4 years Bachelors Degree of Education in Language in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(TCSOL) as major and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages TESOL) as minor program.

The program is supported by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation(CLEC) by providing full scholarships to eligible 20 Nepalese students every year to study at Hebei University of Economics and Business(HUEB). Similarly, Kathmandu University will provide full scholarship to enroll in the program by subsidizing tuition fee and providing appropriate accommodation to 10 foreign students.
