Workshop on Academia-Industry Dialogue

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (DoEEE) organized a workshop on “Academia Industry Dialogue.” The workshop was funded by University Grants Commission. 

There was an enthusiastic participation form ICT industry, government organizations and private companies.

In the inaugural session Mr. Brijesh Adhikary, the HoD, welcomed the participants and presented the program details. The technical session started with the speech by Prof. Dr. Bim Prasad Shrestha, Associate Dean (Research and other activities), School of Engineering, on KU and its industrial perspective.

Other highlights of the technical session included presentations by Dr. Jyoti Tandukar, Associate Professor, IOE, TU/ Chairman  & CEO of Alternative Technology, Mr. Anand Raj khanal, Director & Acting Chief, Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Mr. Suresh K. Regmi, MD, Professional Computer System (p) Ltd., and Mr. Arun Sharma, Faculty, Kathmandu University.  

The technical session was followed by group discussions and group presentations. In this, Academia group, Industry group and Government group were formed. Dr. Bhupendra Bimal Chhetri, Visiting Professor, KU, Mr. Madhav Prasad Pandey, Assistant Professor, DoEEE, and Mr. Diwakar Bhujel, Assistant Professor, DoEEE, presented the conclusions of the group discussions.

Prof. Dr. Shrestha awarded Certificates of Appreciation to the experts. Mr. Brajesh Mishra, Convener of this workshop and Assistant Professor at DoEEE, extended vote of thanks.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ramesh Kumar Maskey, Associate Dean (Academic and Administrative Affairs), School of Engineering, also attended the workshop. Similarly, Mr. Subodh Ghimire, Assistant Professor, DoEEE, Mr. Shailendra Kumar Jha, Assistant Professor, DoEEE and Mr. Manoj Shakya, Assistant Professor, DoCSE, were the internal experts of this workshop.
