Background

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems are most effective when they respond to local realities, labor markets, and community aspirations. Across Nepal, local governments are increasingly taking initiative in planning, coordinating, and implementing skills development programs that are more accessible, relevant, and connected to local economic opportunities. These emerging practices are opening important conversations around the localization of TVET governance, financing, partnerships, and inclusion. In this context, this virtual webinar session will bring together local government representatives and practitioners to share grounded initiatives and experiences, alongside a keynote reflection connecting these efforts to broader national policies and evolving federal-local dynamics in Nepal’s TVET landscape.
