As we are well aware that Kathmandu University School of Management has offered the Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM) with objective of dealing with the wide range of public policy and governance issues along with enhancing management knowledge and skills of public.sector,emphasizes young and mid-career professionals currently working or seeking a career in public services,non-profit and private sector, policy think tank or other organizations.In the process of strengthening and institutionalizing the MPPM program, we are pleased to welcome Distinguished Professor Rosemary O’Leary, Ph.D. under Fulbright Specialist Program. With her extensive expertise in the field of Public Policy, Management, Administration, and Strategic Management and Leadership, Professor Rosemary brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will undoubtedly enrich our learning environment. Her impressive contributions to the field have left an indelible mark, and we are fortunate to have her at KUSOM.

Brief Biography of Prof. Rosemary O’Leary

Rosemary O'Leary was appointed the Edwin O. Stene Distinguished Professor of Public Administration at the University of Kansas in 2013, following a 24-year career at the Maxwell School-Public Policy and Administration (top two #1 ranked programs/policy school in the US) of Syracuse University (Phanstiel Distinguished Chair in Strategic Management and Leadership) and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Bloomington (Professor).She has won 13 national research awards and 2 international research awards, including 4 best book awards. She is the only person in the world to win four Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) awards for Best Dissertation, Excellence in Teaching, Distinguished Research, and Excellence in Doctoral Education. O’Leary also has won 11 teaching awards (2 of them national). She has worked in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, the Philippines, New Zealand, India, and the US. She was Director of the School of Public Affairs and Administration at the University of Kansas for 2 years where the program in local government management is ranked #1 in the US.
