Vacancy announcement for the post of Project Officer

School of Engineering, Kathmandu University is running Community Education Pilot Project with the mission "To improve the quality of life in rural communities, through community services, community education and business incubation". The vision of the project is to establish outreach centers to expose its students and faculty members to rural environments, partly to enhance the students’ understanding of the rural living conditions, partly to enhance motivation for service in rural communities in the country. The activities are planned and implemented in 3 areas of Tamakoshi (Dolkha), Langtang (Rasuwa) and Dolpa. This project is running in cooperation with HimalPartner from Norway.

The project is looking for young and energetic Project Officer as per following terms and conditions.

Condition of service

Post: Project Officer

Salary: equivalent to O-1 level

Contract period: September1 2012 to February 1 2013

Working hours: Office hours

At KU (excluding lunch hours from 12:00 -1:00 pm)

Frequent visit to the sites( as per the site requirement)

Holidays: public holidays as per university rule and other leaves equivalent to O-1 level.

1. Contract will be renewed only after the reviewed and recommendation from the project manager and authorized by dean SoE.

2. Contract will be terminated if the given task done by the candidate is not satisfactory. In this situation project can terminate the candidate with one month prior notice.

Qualification

Good knowledge in Computer skill and ability to use computer and related software

Good ability to write letters, reports both in English and Nepali

 

Job Responsibility

  1. Assisting the Project manager to design and implement Community Education project by involving student of various disciplines at KU.
  2. Have knowledge of proposal writing and preparing budget.
  3. File handling and recording.
  4. Conducting meetings, seminars and workshops.
  5. Planning and implementing the programs through various work activities.
  6. in websites.
  7. Coordinate with various groups of students and faculties of KU along with the public and conduct programs.
  8. Frequent field visit to the outreach centers.
