Vacancy Announcement for the position of office secretary in President Chure Tarai-Madhesh Conservation Project

Project description:

President Chure Tarai-Madhesh Conservation Development Committee Secretariat provides grant to Kathmandu University for the conservation and economic development of Churia region of Nepal. The grant will be utilized to explore the status of bamboo diversity in the region and restore the species in their natural habitat for plant conservation. Similarly, degraded land will be restored through the cultivation of bamboos and multipurpose tree species. It has been aimed that communities in the region will be strengthened through commercial use of bamboo based products. Ultimately, market linkages for community products from bamboo will be established in Nepal and abroad.

For this project, School of Science, Kathmandu University invites application from dynamic and qualified candidates who are willing to take up challenges, for the following position on contract basis for Research project:

POSITION: Office Secretary

Number of Seats: 1

Type: Contract (Non-Permanent)

Job Responsibilities:

The person shall be responsible for:

• Manage the planning, administrative and budgeting functions of Research Project

• Prepare and execute detail outline of project execution

• Prepare all the official paper work for research project

• Visit project sites and prepare the progress report in timely basis.

• Deal with queries from the communities from the study sites.

• Maintain project activities report diary manually & electronically

Job Requirement:

• Ability to use computer programs (word, excel, database) and typing in English and Nepali

• Good command in English and Nepali ( both Written and spoken)

• Experience in secretarial functions

• Demonstrated ability to work independently

• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
