A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Kathmandu University (KU) and University of California, Merced on February 26, 2015 in KU Premises, Dhulikhel.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, Vice Chancellor of KU and Dr. Dorothy Leland, Chancellor of UC Merced and would be effective for five years from the date of signing.

The two institutions agreed to exchange faculty, staff and graduate students, engage in joint research projects, foster the exchange of academic publications and information and promote other academic activities.
