Mr. Mukul Aryal, undergradaute student from Department of Computer Science and Engineering presented a research paper titled “𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀” at ICCTE 2025, University of North Bengal (NBU), Siliguru, India. This research is a team work of undergradaute students Bigya Dhungana, Suyog Ghimire, Shreyash Poudel and Mukul Aryal.
This work focuses on enabling real-time road condition analysis on resource-constrained devices by combining lightweight segmentation techniques with statistical feature-based classification. Presenting it to an audience of researchers, practitioners, and industry experts was a meaningful experience; especially seeing the growing interest in efficient computer vision solutions for embedded systems.
This research is supervised by Prof. Dr. Sudan Jha, Faculty DoCSE, PI, IoT R&D Lab. Our undergraduate students were able to accomplish this achievement under his continuous mentorship, technical guidance and insights.
The full paper will be published in the 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗡𝗘𝗘 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, which is 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗱.
Congratulations to our undergradaute students on your achievement. Department is always proud and grateful for all the milestones our students are conquering
