The kick-off meeting of Strengthening Training and Research through Networking and Globalization of Teaching in Engineering Studies an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Project (STRONG TIES – Erasmus Mundus Action 2) took place in Malaysia on Oct 13-14, 2011. Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Dean of the School of Engineering and Mr. Bal Krishna Bal, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering attended the meeting on behalf of Kathmandu University. The Project is led by the City University London, UK and has 7 Universities from Europe and the UK and 11 Universities from Asia as partners. Student mobility at different levels (Undergraduate, Post-Graduate, Doctorate and Post-Doctorate) and Staff mobility (both technical and non-technical) from Asian Universities to partner Universities from the European Union and the UK is envisaged as part of the project.
