The main purpose of this MoU is to conduct a project study on determining the hydro power potential of Nepal. The data derived from this study shall be a new updated data that is essential to reform and formulate plans and policies for speedy hydro project sector development in Nepal. The duration of the study is three months which starts from July 2018 and ends in September 2018. The submission of the project study report is expected by first week of September 2018.

Main highlights of MoU are as follows,

• EDC shall provide the study on Inventory of River in Nepal that includes the details of more than 11000 river and rivulets of Nepal.
• EDC shall provide the methodology for conducting the study.
• EDC shall provide GIS software and methodology to conduct the study.
• EDC shall provide training on GIS to the students involved if required.
• EDC shall provide a stipend of Rs. 5000 per month to the 15 students involved in the study.
• EDC shall provide a stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month to the Program Manager to coordinate and supervise the project study.
