December 09, 2025, Professor Rupak Kharel, Department of Computer Science, University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom visited Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Kavre, Nepal. Professor Kharel is the Associate Dean International at School of Computing and Engineering, University of Huddersfield.

Professor Kharel is an Alumni of Kathmandu University who completed his ISC program back in 1997A.D. - 1999A.D.

Acting Head, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pankaj Raj Dawadi welcomed Professor Kharel at the department. An official interaction and networking session was held at the department. Faculties from DoCSE and PhD Scholars participated in the interaction session where Professor Kharel shed some light on the research methodologies, critical thinking and problem solving. Professor shared the research opportunities that we can explore in the field of Internet of Things, Cybersecurity in AI, AI in Cybersecurity, Vehicular Ad Hoc Network, etc.

It was an interactive session where faculties shared their curiosities regarding research methodologies, global research practices and collaboration.

This is the first interaction with Professor Kharel. Dr. Dawadi, HoD, DoCSE shared that we will continue this interaction with formal academic collaboration in future.
