Prof. Maryline Chetto visited Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Kathmandu University from March 22-26, 2026. She delivered guest lectures on Real-Time Embedded Systems to graduate students from March 22 to 25, and delivered a talk on her research topic to faculty members of DoCSE on March 26, 2026.

Prof. Maryline Chetto is a French computer engineering professor at the University of Nantes. She earned her doctoral degree in control engineering in 1984 and her Habilitation in Computer Science in 1993 from the same university. After a brief period as an assistant professor at the Institut de Recherche en Informatique et Systèmes Aléatoires (IRISA) in Rennes, she returned to Nantes and became a full professor in 2002. Her research focuses on real-time embedded systems, particularly task scheduling, fault tolerance, and dynamic power management for IoT devices. More recently, she has studied scheduling in energy-harvesting sensor nodes powered by renewable energy. She has published 170+ research papers with over 2400 citations, reflecting significant contributions to real-time systems research. She edited the book Real-time Systems Scheduling (Elsevier, 2014) and co-authored Energy Autonomy of Real-Time Systems (Elsevier, 2016). She also served as general chair of the IEEE International Conference on Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom 2020 and 2025) and was a member of the French National Council for Universities from 2011 to 2023.

Kathmandu University and University of Nantes are already collaborating on research projects, thesis guidance and student exchange under Erasmus+ KA171 Student Mobility Program led by Assistant Professor Dr. Rajani Chulyadyo.

Thank you Professor for your valuable time and presence at Kathmandu University. Our faculties and students got this valuable opportunity to learn from your decades of experience. We look forward to hosting you again at Kathmandu University.
