A National Conference on ‘Contemporary Management Education and Practices’ was organized by the joint effort of the Department of Management Informatics and Communication (DoMIC) under Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM), Nepal College of Management (NCM) and Little Angels College of Management (LACM) on May 19, 2023. The conference hosted honourable guests such as Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle (Registrar of Kathmandu University and Conference Patron), Prof. Dr. Devi Prasad Bedari (Dean of KUSOM and Conference Chair), Prof. Dr. Bijaya K.C. (Former Dean of KUSOM) and Prof. Dr. Biju K Thapaliya (Dean, Faculty of Management, Purbanchal University).

The conference was conducted in two phases, the first of which was in the C.V. Raman Hall. In this phase, Prof. Dr. Wagle addressed the conference and expressed the readiness of the university to create business incubation centers. Prof. Dr. Bedari also remarked on the event as a demanded discourse on management education and claimed that balancing everything was the future of management education. Prof. Dr. K.C. and Prof. Dr. Thapaliya also delivered their keynote speeches emphasizing the change needed in concurrent pedagogy.

Additionally, the conference also presented a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Sunetra Pradhanang with five expert panellists: Prof. Dr. Sushil Bhakta Mathema (Principal of NCM), Assoc. Prof. Ms. Jyoti Regmi Adhikari (KUSOM Faculty specialising in Human Resource Management), Dr. Mitra Bandhu Poudel (Principal of LACM), Mr. Dev Prasad Gupta (CEO of EShare Solutions) and Ms. Snigdha Baral (Head of Business at MentorLab Nepal). The discussion provided insightful ideas on contemporary issues of management education, modern leadership, and human resource management.

The second phase of the conference was hosted at the National Technical Innovation Centre (NTIC) of Kathmandu University. The phase consisted of several sessions of paper discussions. Many of the papers presented were related to management practices in the real world as well as management education itself.
