Mr. Shrestha Participated in 10th Anniversary of APCICT

Mr. Dhiraj Shrestha, Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, was invited as a Speaker to share his experience on “Building an Android app and SMS system for migrant workers,” a Community Development Project using Engaged Learning in Regional Forum on ICT Human Capacity Development and Launch of the Women and ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) organized by United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN-APCICT/ESCAP) from 9-10 June, 2016 in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

The event was held on the occasion of APCICT’s 10th Anniversary, the meeting provided the multi-stakeholder platform to engage participants from over 50 countries in a dialogue on ICT capacity development towards a sustainable future. It facilitated an exchange of ideas and perspectives on effective ICTD capacity building, identify lessons learned, and chart the way forward.

The 2-day meeting convened government leaders and policymakers as well as representatives from civil society, academia, private sector, and international organizations to engage in a dialogue on effective ICT capacity development in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Kathmandu University is APCICT’s Primer partner institution.
