Mr. Santosh Shaha, Master by Research Student, in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (DoEEE) successfully defended his thesis titled "Enhancing Hydroponic Systems with IoT and AI-Driven Disease Detection" on 12 March, 2024. Mr. Shaha designed and developed custom design cloud-based IoT dashboards and edge computing technologies to monitor and manage the hydroponic farm in real time. Similary, he has developed predictive models for disease detection in lettuce plants and recommended mitigation strategies based on collected data. His research work was supported by Research Fellowship program of Kathmandu University under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ram Kaji Budhathoki.
