A Letter of Agreement (LoA) was signed between the School of Science, Kathmandu University (KU), and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) on 24 June 2024 at the ICIMOD Office, Lalitpur.

The Dean of School of Science, Prof. Dr. Janardan Lamichhane and the Director General of ICIMOD, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho signed the LoA for the Capacity Building for Assessment of Cryosphere Changes and Associated Environmental and Social Risks in the HKH Region (CBACC-HKH). The LoA has envisaged to support 12 M. Sc. in Environmental Science Specialization in Glaciology students and 6 teaching faculties from the Regional Member Countries of the ICIMOD in two years at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering. The School of Science, KU thanks to ICIMOD for the continuous support to upgrade the research activity in KU and capacity building for assessment of cryosphere changes.
