Interaction with Prof. Dr. Eva Chmielewska
On
Natural Resources and Renewable Energy
CEPTE has been organizing the Kathmandu University-Lecture Series (KULS) at Kathmandu University since 2005 with the aim to give practical information on current issues of R&D, policy for their implementation and sustainable management infrastructure development to the students, faculties and invitees. Prominent experts in the field are invited to share their knowledge with KULS participants. For this twenty-fifth round of KULS interaction we have invited Prof. Dr. Eva Chmielewka from Comenius university, Slovakia. Prof. Dr. Chmielewska will be here for one week to give her lectures to faculties, staffs and students of schools of engineering, science and management. Dr. Chmielewska is a Professor of Environmental Engineering at faculty of Natural sciences, Bratislava. She did her Doctorate in Environmental Engineering from Slovak Technical University, Bratislava in 1985.She is currently the Head of Bio-indication and Bio-monitoring Laboratory at the Department of Ecosozology and Physicostatistics. Dr. interests are in Research, development and design of physical and chemical processes for water, wastewater and solid waste treatment by physicochemical and biological method (bioremediation techniques), research on processes to identify factors that limit mass transfer, kinetics, equilibria and phase separation by means of natural clay minerals (clinoptilolite and mordenite), Environmental quality (water, soil and biota) monitoring as well as environmental policy. She has a credit of 6 Monographs (including in German and English), 5 text books, about 70 (50 foreign) papers in refereed scientific journals, over 100 communications in scientific meetings, published over 90 journal-class articles in these areas220 citation index (about 170 foreign).
