KUSOM Finance Club organized SBAN National Stock Pitching Competition and Financial Literacy Workshop

Kathmandu, 31st May – National Stock Pitching Competition – 2024 was organized successfully in all seven provinces of Nepal from Baisakh 23, 2081 to Jestha 06, 2081. Each winners of the respective provinces were brought together in the Kathmandu for the grand finale where they had to compete with each other presenting their respective stock investment strategies. The grand finale of the National Stock Pitching Competition took place on 31st May (Jestha 18) at Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM),and closing ceremony at Square Hotel culminating in a thrilling and thought-provoking event that brought together the brightest financial minds in the nation. Organized by the KUSOM Finance Club and supported by Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (SBAN), the competition featured teams from top institutions and universities across the country, all vying for the prestigious title.The event was graced by Dr. Nabaraj Adhikari, Executive Director of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), who served as the chief guest. His presence underscored the importance of fostering financial literacy and encouraging young talents from all over the country in the investment sector. Distinguished guests included Dr. Bijay KC, Dean of KUSOM, whose support and insights were invaluable to the event's success. Similarly, the distinguished guests also included Mr Prajwal Upreti, Executive Member of SBAN, and Jayant Srivastav, General Manager of Siprabi Securities whose support and guidance played a vital role in the success of National Stock Pitching Competition – 2024.

Provincial Winners

The competition's provincial rounds saw participation from leading educational institutions, each representing their respective provinces with distinction:

• Koshi Province: Kasturi College, Itahari

• Madesh Province: Birgunj Public College, Birgunj

• Bagmati Province: Boston International College, Chitwan

• Gandaki Province: Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara

• Lumbini Province: New Horizon College, Butwal

• Karnali Province: Mid-West University School of Management, Birendranagar

• Sudurpaschim Province: Galaxy Multiple Campus, Dhangadhi

In Bagmati Province, the event was conducted in two locations, Chitwan and Kathmandu, with 

the following teams advancing to the finale:

• Shankar Dev Campus

• Kathmandu College of Management (KCM)

• Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM)

These finalists represented their provinces and institutions, showcasing diverse perspectives and 

innovative ideas at the national stage. Over several weeks, they meticulously analyzed equities, formulated investment strategies, and presented their proposals to a panel of distinguished judges from the financial sector.

Grand Finale Highlights

The grand finale featured the top nine teams, each delivering detailed research, demonstrating analytical prowess, and exhibiting strategic thinking through their stock proposals. Each team had a 15-minute presentation followed by a rigorous Q&A session with the judges. The judges assessed the pitches based on several criteria, including depth of analysis, innovative thinking, risk assessment, and overall presentation skills.

Winners Announced

The competition concluded with the announcement of the top three teams:

• First Place: Team Mt. Manaslu from Kathmandu College of Management (KCM)

• Second Place: Team Invincible from Shankar Dev Campus

• Third Place: Team B.A.P from Kathmandu University School of Management 

(KUSOM)
