Professor Ashok Deshpande, an environmental engineer holds PhD degree in Engineering and Technology and is the Founding Chair: Berkeley Initiative in Soft Computing (BISC)-Special Interest Group (SIG)-Environment Management Systems (EMS), Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, University of California Berkeley Ca USA; and also Guest Faculty at UC Berkeley- a small place with big name. More importantly, Professor Lotfi Zadeh, the founder of fuzzy logic, after listening to many seminar talks, asked Professor Ashok Deshpande to be the Chair (BISC)-Special (SIG)-(EMS). 

Dr. Rehan Sadiq is currently an Associate Professor at Okanagan School of Engineering (UBC) since January 2009. For past twelve years he has been involved in research related to water supply systems, environmental risk analysis and infrastructure reliability. He has led numerous research projects funded by Water Research Foundation, UK Water Industry Research, and Canadian agencies including NSERC, Health Canada, Canadian Water Network, BC Oil & Gas Commission, and Infrastructure Canada. During this period, he has been successful in generating over $ 3M funding. He is an author of more than 200 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles, book chapters and technical reports. The citations for his research work now exceed 1150 in the Google Scholar and other scientific databases, and his current h-index is 20.
