KU hosted a meeting with Crown Institute of Higher Education(CIHE) to review and strengthen BIT (double degree) program

On December 31, 2025, Kathmandu University hosted a meeting with representatives from Crown Institute of Higher Education (CIHE), including Mr. Deepak Khadka (Founder and Director) and Mr. Prakash Sharma (Director of International Business), to review and strengthen the implementation of the double-degree Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT) program.

The meeting focused on ensuring a smooth transition of the first batch of BIT students, who pursue their studies under Kathmandu University up to the second year before continuing at CIHE. Progress of the second batch was reviewed, and plans for upcoming batches were discussed, with particular emphasis on clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of the participating institutions.

Dean Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel welcomed the delegates on behalf of the School of Engineering. Steering Committee member Prof. Dr. Bal Krishna Bal presented the key agendas related to the BIT program, followed by remarks and inputs from the Acting Head of the Department, Er. Pankaj Raj Dawadi, PhD from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

CIHE representatives shared valuable insights and requested the Department to organize counseling sessions for BIT students. CIHE also committed to providing logistical support to conduct a short counseling session at its Nepal Office.
