Mr. Dipesh Khadka, Lecturer & Coordinator at the Department of Health Informatics, Kathmandu University, presented at the 10th Summer Course Program for transforming Public Health for Sustainable Communities 2026, held online from September 21 to 30, 2026. The program was organized by the Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Diponegoro in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Indonesia.

During his session titled "Transforming Public Health through Digital Health: Building Interoperable Systems for Sustainable Communities," Mr. Khadka explored key concepts in health data integration, highlighting systems like OpenMRS and DHIS2. He emphasized that achieving true interoperability goes beyond mere technical connectivity and APIs, requiring standardized data mapping, policy alignment, and broader health system readiness. Additionally, he discussed how Kathmandu University’s Department of Health Informatics is helping address these challenges by preparing skilled health informatics professionals through its academic programs in Nepal.
