Korean Language Course Completion Ceremony

On 27 November 2017, the completion ceremony of the Korean language course was held in CV Raman Auditorium.

Ms. Eunji SIM, who was dispatched from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in January 2016, taught Korean at Kathmandu University for about two years. Eleven of her students studied Level 1 (Beginner course), Level 3 (Intermediate course) and Level 5 (Advance course) and received a certificate.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, Registrar Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Dean of School of Science Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, Director of Student Welfare Dr. Ramesh Kumar Maskey, Member of the Executive Council Dr. Bim Prasad Shrestha, Coordinator of HMU Dr. Hem Raj Kafle, and Visiting Professor to Department of Chemical Engineering Dr. Kyunyeong Park attended at the event among a number of other faculties.

From KOICA, KOICA director, Dr. Hyungkyoo KIM, attended the meeting and talked about Korea and KOICA on the subject of "Why should you learn Korean language and Korea". H

Both Dr. Shrestha and Dr. KIM congratulated certificate recipients and encouraged those who are studying Korean.

Ms.Eunji SIM returns to Korea next month after completing her two-year tenure as a volunteer. And in mid-December her successor, Mr. Hancheon Lee will come and teach Korean in the University. 

KOICA has been sending Korean language teachers to Kathmandu University since 2010. The language volunteer is stationed at the Humanities and Management Unit.
