A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Chure-Tarai Madhesh Conservation Development Board (Chure Board) and Kathmandu University on February 23, 2015 at the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, Singhadurbar, Kathmandu.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, Vice Chancellor of KU and Mr. Rameshore Prasad Khanal, Chairperson of Chure Board. The MoU would be effective for 5 years from the date of signing.
The official MoU signing ceremony was marked by the gracious presence of Hon. Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation, Mr. Mahesh Acharya, Secretary Mr. Sharad Chandra Paudel, Mr. Rameshore Prasad Khanal, Chairperson, Chure Board, Dean School of Science, KU, Associate Dean School of Engineering, KU, Chure Board members and representatives of Tribhuvan University.
Chure Board and KU together intend to work for developing cooperation in applied research in pursuit of forest conservation and improvement of livelihood practices in Chure, Bhawar and Tarai-Madhesh region. The two organizations would be participating in joint research and scientific activities and in the advancement of knowledge base in the future.
