Kathmandu University, School of Science and School of Engineering observed Freshers’ Orientation Day today (31st August 2012) at its Central Campus in Dhulikhel, Kavre.

Welcoming the freshers at the occasion, Dr. Subodh Sharma, Director at the Office of Director, Student Welfare oriented all present about accommodation, transport, challenges and Do’s and Don’t’s to become a successful student at Kathmandu University. Speaking on the occasion were Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller, Deans, and officials from Library, Information System Managerment Service (ISMS) etc.

All the speakers emphasized on students’ involvement in class room and achieve 100 % attendance though KU has set a minimum of 80% attendance. It was emphasized that the fundamentals of  basic courses of Sciences and Engineering are important as foundation of all courses. Freshers were advised to focus on studies and refrain from politics.

The Orientaion was held separately for the students of Science and the School of Engineering.
