The school is proud to be a partner in the MAGENDA (Mainstreaming GENDer in Academia) Project, a prestigious European Union-funded initiative focused on advancing gender equality in academia. The project, set to run for the next three years, aims to foster institutional change, develop Gender Equality Plans (GEP), advocate for policy reforms, and promote inclusive education through faculty and staff training and community awareness campaigns.

Under the leadership of the Dean Prof. Bijay K.C. and Associate Dean Assoc. Prof. Khagendra Acharya, the project at KUSOM will be managed by Assistant Professor Sabina Baniya Chhetri and Assistant Professor Dipesh Karki. They will collaborate with global partners to implement impactful strategies that strengthen gender-inclusive policies within higher education institutions

The kick-off meeting, held in Pokhara on March 16-17, 2025, brought together representatives from consortium partners, including Pokhara University (Project Coordinator), Far-Western University (Nepal), Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh Open University, Sher-e- Bangla Agricultural University, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), University of Peloponnese (Greece), KMOP, and READLAB (Greece). This meeting officially marked the beginning of the project, setting the foundation for collaborative efforts toward gender equity in education.

Over the next three years, KUSOM will work closely with its global partners to drive institutional change, promote policy reforms, and build a sustainable framework for gender equality in higher education. This initiative highlights KUSOM’s commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive academic environment
