Interaction with KU Chair of Conservation Biology

Kathmandu University upon the approval of the 646th meeting of the Executive Council, on the recommendation of the Dean of School of Science, a Country Representative of WWF Nepal and the Faculty Board Member of School of Science, Dr. Ghana Shyam Gurung has been nominated in the position of "Kathmandu University Chair of Conservation Biology"

An interaction program with Dr. Gurung was held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice-Chancellor, Kathmandu University.

The Dean of the School of Science, Prof. Dr. Kanhaiya Jha welcomed all delegates with the objectives of the chair position. The certificate was handed over to Dr. Gurung and gave valuable remarks by Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice-Chancellor, Kathmandu University.

Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, Registrar, Kathmandu University introduced Dr. Gurung and handed over the token of love to him. Dr. Gurung in his presentation shared the current status of the nation and the role of WWF Nepal in conservation biology relative to the global context.

The Controller of Examination Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa, Director of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Prof. Deepak Prasad Subedi, Director of Coordination and Communication Prof. Dr. Bibhuti Ranjan Jha, the Head of Departments, Program Coordinators, Professors, Managers and other officials were present in the program.

The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Bed Mani Dahal, Associate Dean of School of Science.

This nomination will help to provide project/internship opportunities to the students, to promote research activities and also to explore the endowment fund for the stability of programs as well as academic activities.
