Kathmandu University successfully hosted the 19th International IFIP WG 9.4 Conference in Kathmandu from May 25–27, 2026, under the theme “Reorienting the Digital: Ethics, Ontology, and Sustainable Futures.” The event brought together international researchers, academicians, and professionals to discuss digital innovation, ethics, and sustainable futures in the information society.

Adding to the success of this prestigious international event, the Department of Health Informatics, Kathmandu University, actively participated through both student volunteers and faculty involvement. Students from Batch 2024 and Batch 2025 served as enthusiastic volunteers and supported various conference activities, including event coordination, participant support, and overall management throughout the program.

The department was also represented in the organizing team by Mr. Dipesh Khadka, whose contribution helped strengthen coordination and ensure the smooth execution of the conference.

In addition, the Department of Health Informatics collaborated with volunteers from other departments, including Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science & Engineering, creating an interdisciplinary team that worked together to make the event successful.

This experience provided students with valuable exposure to international academic environments, teamwork, and professional engagement beyond classroom learning. The active participation of the Health Informatics community reflects Kathmandu University’s commitment to collaboration, leadership, and creating meaningful opportunities for student growth.

Congratulations to all volunteers, organizers, and contributors for making the IFIP conference a successful and memorable event!
