A guest lecture on " Reliability Engineering for Competitive Advantage " has been delivered by Prof. Ajit Kumar Verma on 8 August, 2023 in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kathmandu University. Prof. Verma gave an introduction of reliability engineering and its role and importance in business, power plant and in daily life with different examples. Ajit Kumar Verma is a Professor(Technical Safety), Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences(FIN) at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Haugesund and has been in Norway for the past eleven years. He was a Professor /Senior (HAG) scale Professor for around 15 years at IIT Bombay with the Reliability Engineering/Department of Electrical Engg. He has supervised/co-supervised 39 PhDs and over 100 Masters theses ( IITB; HVL,Norway; LJMU,UK; WMG,UK, Univ of Gavle, Sweden) in the area of Electronic Systems Reliability, Software Reliability, Reliable Computing, Power Systems Reliability, Reliability Centred Maintenance , Soft Computing in RAMS for Complex Engineering Systems and Probabilistic Safety/Risk Assessment in process and power plants. The program was attended by students and faculties of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kathmandu University
