Guest Lecture by Prof. Veletzos

Associate Professor, Marc J. Veletzos, delivered a talk on "FEMA Structures Specialists and the role of Civil Engineers in Emergency Response" on July 26, 2022 at the Department of Civil Engineering, Kathmandu University. He described the role of civil engineering in the response to extreme events. His talk focused on the role of the Structures Specialist on FEMA Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams. The talk predominantly described the national response systems in the United States.

Dr. Veletzos is an Associate Professor and Chair at the Department of Civil Engineering at Merrimack College, USA. He is a Fulbright Scholar and associated with the Department of Civil Engineering at Kathmandu University for the past few years.

The program was attended by students and faculties of various departments at Kathmandu University.
