Graduation Ceremony 2013 of MEEPE-EnPe Fellowship Program

The students of Masters of Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering (batch 2011-13) under Energy and Petroleum (EnPe) Fellowship Program received their Provisional Certificate of Degree in the Fifth Graduation Ceremony organized by Kathmandu University (KU) on 2nd July 2013 at the C.V. Raman Auditorium, KU. Vice Chancellor of KU, Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, awarded the degrees to the students. On his congratulatory speech, he wished the graduating students a very successful future. He inspired to utilize their knowledge for the welfare of the community and gave guidance to the School of Engineering to bring out further more success stories. On this auspicious occasion, Founder Vice Chancellor of KU, Prof. Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma was the Chief Guest. Along with his recollections from KU-NTNU-NORAD cooperation, Prof. Sharma appreciated the significant contributions NTNU and NORAD had made for KU. He congratulated the graduating students and wished them bright future. Besides that, he also distributed momentos to the key contributors of MEEPE program. On this felicitation program, Mr. Brijesh Adhikary, the MEEPE program coordinator, briefed the short history and the future course of MEEPE program. Dr. Rita Kumar, Institutional Contact Person (ICP) from NTNU, congratulated and inspired the graduates. She highlighted on the success of KU – NTNU collaboration and the mutual benefits garnered by both the institutions. Mr. Halsten Aastebol, Senior Engineer and program coordinator from NTNU also expressed his satisfaction on the success of MEEPE and commitment of KU to continue it. Mr. Hitendra Dev Shakya, one of the distinguished alumni of MEEPE program, currently working as the Director at Nepal Electricity Authority shared his experiences as a student at KU and vowed his support for the success of the program in the future too. Finally, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, the registrar of KU expressed his gratitude to every stakeholder bringing MEEPE program to its success and concluded his valedictory notes with commitment for enhancing the quality of education and research capability of KU.

In this program, Founder Registrar Prof. Dr. Sitaram Adhikary, KU dignitaries, Deans, Directors, Heads and Coordinators of various Departments, alumni, faculty, staff members of KU, MEEPE graduates and their families were also present. Asst. Prof. Diwakar Bhujel was the Master of Ceremony for this ceremony.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has also made recently a call for admission for its new cohort 2013-2015. Asst. Prof. Diwakar Bhujel has been appointed the new program coordinator for the new cohort. Details can be obtained from the following link.
