1.

Dr. Gunjan Bisht Thapa, Assistant Professor of Department of Chemical Science and Engineering, and Dr. Bhupal G. Shrestha of Department of Biotechnology along with a group of B. Tech. students of Biotechnology, Kathmandu University, gota paper entitled Synthesis, Characterization, and Study of In Vitro Cytotoxicity of ZnO-Fe3O4 Magnetic Composite Nanoparticles in Human Breast Cancer Cell Line (MDA-MB-231) and Mouse Fibroblast (NIH 3T3)” published in Nanoscale Research Letters (springer open) peer-reviewed journal.

This paper deals with the synthesis, characterization and in vitro cytotoxicity study of magnetic composite nanoparticles synthesized by ex situ conjugation of synthesized ZnO nanoparticles and Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The magnetic composite nanoparticles contain key properties of both nanoparticles viz. inherent selectivity towards cancerous cell and superparamagnetic nature for targeted localization, on a single system.
