Dr. Kanhaiya Jha as an Ambassador in ICM 2014

of Kathmandu University has been appointed as an Ambassador of NANUM 2014 and ICM 2014 for South and West Asia (including Indian subcontinent) for promoting International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2014) and sharing its theme “Dreams and Hopes for late Starters” among the mathematicians in Nepal and neighboring countries. This is 27th ICM which is going to be organized in Seoul, Republic of Korea from August 13 – 21, 2014. It is the largest congress in the mathematics community. It is held once every four years under the auspices of the International Mathematical Union (IMU). The Fields Medals, the Nevanlinna Prize, the Gauss Prize, and the Chern Medal are awarded during the opening ceremony on the first day of the congress. It is the historical moment for Nepalese mathematics teachers to be included first time in the committee of ICM 2014 and is also an honor to the nation.
