DOHI Faculty Participation in Public Health Conference 2026

Mr. Dipesh Khadka, Lecturer at the Department of Health Informatics, Kathmandu University, participated as a panelist at the Public Health Faculty & Students’ Conference 2026 organized by the Consortium of Academic Institutions for Public Health in Nepal (CAIPHEN) in collaboration with Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences, Dhulikhel Hospital, and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH).

He contributed to the panel session titled “From Data to Decisions: Leveraging Digital Innovations for Evidence-Based Public Health in Nepal,” where discussions focused on digital health, interoperability challenges, evidence-based public health decision making, and the future requirements for strengthening Nepal’s digital public health ecosystem.

The session also highlighted the importance of capacity building, collaboration, and preparing students with the necessary technical and public health skills for the growing digital health field. During the discussion, he also shared how the Department of Health Informatics at Kathmandu University is contributing to capacity building and skilled manpower development in Nepal through its Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Health Informatics.
