21 November 2025, Four faculties from Department of Computer Science and Engineering participated in the Pre-Summit Event of the AI Impact Summit at Hotel Yak & Yeti, organized by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu. The event themed “AI for Inclusive Growth: Building Nepal’s AI-Ready Future,” brought together experts from Nepal and India. Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, Faculty, DoCSE, Dean, School of Enginering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sushil Shrestha, Asst. Prof. Dr. Manoj Shakya, and Lecturer Mr. Suman Shrestha represented Kathmandu University in the event.
A panel discussion on “Leveraging AI for Nepal’s Growth” featured government officials, industry leaders, and AI specialists, highlighting the need for inclusive AI policies, digital infrastructure, and cross-border collaboration.
The event also included a workshop titled “Workshop on AI Tools and Architecture,” conducted by Mr. Ram Sharma Bhattarai, focusing on AI tools and workflow automation using n8n. Additionally, a session by Shri Ajay Rajawat demonstrated the practical applications of AI in India through the Bhashini platform.
The program provided valuable insights into AI adoption, digital transformation, and opportunities for academic involvement, reinforcing our commitment to strengthening AI education and research within our department.
