DoCSE Faculties Interaction Meeting with Dean, School of Engineering (SoE)

January 02, 2026, New faculties from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, attended an interaction meeting at Dean Office, School of Engineering. This meeting was called by the Dean Office where Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, Dean, Acting Head. Dr. Pankaj Raj Dawadi, eight new faculties, and one technical staff were present. The objectives of this meeting was sharing insights about the School of Engineering, mission and vision of Kathmandu University and how every faculty should align to the mission of the University.

Dr. Manish Pokharel is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Followed by his remarks in the capacity of Dean, Dr. Pokharel shared his experience in the University, challenges and opportunities he experienced during his tenure as In-Charge, and Head of Department of DoCSe. As the department is evolving and a new generation of faculties are joining the University, Dr. Pokharel congratulated all new faculties. Dr. Pokharel concluded his remarks by addressing the importance of positive mindset, learning attitude and inclination towards research and development. He mentioned that we should teach our students, provide an environment for them to learn on their own and we should learn more from our students.

Dr. Pankaj Raj Dawadi, Head, DoCSE added few remarks about the department. With 26 faculties, DoCSE is now a team of 32 individuals (faculties, teaching assistants, lab assistants, admin and support staff). Dr. Dawadi highlighted the names of some new faculties who are assisting the department with key responsibilities that are aiding smooth functioning of the department. Dr. Dawadi encouraged new faculties to participate in research activities, collaboration and also plan for higher studies for academic excellence. As DoCSE is the largest department in terms of faculties, and students, Dr. Dawadi emphasized new faculty members to collaborate with faculties and work in synergy keeping a positive mindset.
