The Office of the President of Nepal, on 9 February 2022, organized a sharing discussion of Kathmandu University at Shital Niwas in the presence of the Rt. Hon. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. The interaction which was started with a welcome note by the Registrar of KU Prof. Subodh Sharma had allowed the Deans of all seven schools to introduce their respective schools and present the strategies and future plans.
In the end, the President of Nepal Ms. Bhandari expressed her interest in quality education and stated that university-led research should focus on preserving the resources i.e. soil, stone, and water, which cannot be created or produced overnight. "Protecting those natural gifts and handing them over to future generations is the main challenge today", she stated.
Speaking in the sharing, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa stated that even if KU has been working with limited resources its contribution to higher education is well evaluated by society. That is why KU is inspired to expand its programs not only to acknowledge public trust in it but also to work with the government to met the target to increase enrollment of students in higher education.
As Principal Private Secretary to the Rt. Hon'ble president Bhesh Raj Adhikari, Secretary Mr. Toya Narayan Gyawali, and other officials attended the sharing discussion from the Office of the President of Nepal, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, the Registrar Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, Controller of Examinations Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa, Prof. Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel, Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, Prof. Dr. Rishikesh Wagle, Prof. Dr. Devi Prasad Bedari, Prof. Dr. Rajendra Prasad Koju, Prof. Dr. Kanhaiya Jha, Ms. Ekku Maya Pun, Prof. Dr. Bibhuti Ranjan Jha, Dr. Uddhab Pyakurel and Mr. Nabhendra Paudel took part in it from university.
